Last week I was fortunate enough to be asked to do photography for a Chicago band called Fragments. It was not like previous Chicago concert photography, due to the fact that this was all taken in their rehearsal room. It was more intimate, more personal, and once they began to play I sort of lost myself in the music. It’s always interesting to be sort of behind the scenes. Watching just how much preparation goes into making sure everything sounds perfect and the passion that each person puts into their music. As Berthold Auerbach said best, Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. I couldn’t agree more and I’m always so glad when I get to work on music and concert photography. This my music photography of a rehearsal with Fragments; a short music documentary of one night with a Chicago band.
